New York University Postdoctoral Associate in New York, New York

New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing is seeking one postdoctoral candidate in aging research for a one-year appointment (renewal based on funding availability). The position involves postdoctoral work in conducting large-dataset analyses using advanced statistic models. Experience in the use of various datasets, e.g., Medicare and Medicaid administrative data (CMS) ), UK Biobank, Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging, is also desirable. The postdoctoral associate will engage in conducting and running analysis, reporting the study results, publishing, presenting, and grant-writing, in addition to advancing their own area of research. The postdoctoral associate will be under the mentorship and direction of Prof. Bei Wu and receive professional development and academic networking opportunities. The position is available immediately and will be open until filled.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,000 - $62,500. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

  1. Dissertation completed in the last 5 years.

  2. Earned or nearing completion PhD or equivalent in epidemiology, biostatistics, nursing, quantitative psychology, social and behavioral sciences, health economics, or other health-related fields.

  3. Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the US at the time of hire and for the duration of this one-year appointment; this position is not eligible for vis sponsorship.

  4. As part of its selection process, our selection committee looks for evidence of superior scholarly achievement (honors, awards, publications), research productivity (especially NIH grant writing and participation), and promise of continuing achievement towards independence as a researcher.

  7. A personal statement detailing the reasons for applying for a fellowship and how the proposed research fits with the mentor Prof. Bei Wu (maximum 1 page single spaced)

  8. One or two research papers that are most representative of the candidate’s work (preferred first-authored by candidate)

  9. Names and contact information of three references
