NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing Post Doctoral Associate - 2024 (Dr. Bei Wu) in New York, New York

Background:

New York University’s Rory Meyers College of Nursing seeks to hire a postdoctoral candidate for a two-year appointment (renewal based on funding availability) at the Rutgers-NYU Center for Asian Health Promotion and Equity (CAHPE). One of the interdisciplinary projects that is funded through the center focuses on supporting Chinese and Korean dementia caregivers, who are at increased risk for high blood pressure and diabetes due to the physical and emotional demands of caregiving. The project will test a culturally tailored version of the NYU Caregiver Intervention plus peer support through online chat groups. The randomized control trial will determine if the intervention improves psychosocial factors and cardiometabolic health in this population.

Position Accountabilities and Duties:

The person hired in this position will work closely with the project PIs (Drs. Bei Wu and Mary Mittelman) to coordinate study activities and oversee achievement of study milestones. S/he will be responsible for the day-to-day coordinating and monitoring of project tasks. S/he will be responsible for the regulatory aspects of the projects, including submission of the IRB renewals, maintaining regulatory documentation, and community outreach. S/he will assist the PIs in conducting various research related activities, including data analysis, and manuscript writing. In addition, s/he will have the opportunity to develop K and/or R grant applications.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
