Description
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities and equipment, ensuring all essential building services, mechanical systems, and the interior and exterior grounds are in top condition. This role involves light-duty repairs, facilities services, and assisting with the overall maintenance of the physical plant. The Facilities Maintenance Associate will work under the direction of department leadership to achieve all facilities and safety goals.
As a Facilities Maintenance Associate, your responsibilities will include:
Perform routine maintenance and light-duty repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building structures.
Coordinate and oversee preventative maintenance and inspections, including work by external vendors.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and internal customer concerns.
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective, timely maintenance support.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and communicate safety concerns to leadership.
Prepare meeting rooms, handle building opening/closing procedures, and participate in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Qualifications
Education, Experience
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in the janitorial field, trade, technical facility, or equivalent work experience.
Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position including bending, squatting, stretching, and lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
Certification Current Certificate of Fitness as New York City Fire Safety Director preferred or within 6 months of employment.
