Robert Half Accountant - Entry Level in New York, New York

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity in New York, New York, United States for an Entry Level Accountant to be a part of our Architecture and Construction team. This role involves on-site work and is focused on maintaining and managing financial transactions and records.

Responsibilities:

• Documenting financial transactions by entering account information and ensuring the accuracy of entries in comparison to system reports and balances.

• Addressing discrepancies, challenging suspicious or incomplete information related to purchase orders, contracts, invoices, bills, and other documents and transactions.

• Reconciling vendor accounts by comparing monthly statements and related transactions.

• Maintaining historical records by digitizing and filing documents.

• Handling and verifying Accounts Payable related entries.

• Performing month-end close, payroll, and other journal entries as required.

• Conducting banking and other account reconciliations.

• Regularly reviewing P& L detail to ensure accuracy.

• Demonstrating a firm understanding of the impact of assets and liabilities on the balance sheet.

• Preparing payments to vendors and reimbursements to employees.

• Maintaining internal accounting controls and suggesting improvements when necessary.

• Maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions accurately.

• Continually questioning processes and constantly seeking improvements.

Skills required include proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, Acomba, Cl Programming, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, IBM AS/400, About Time, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Check Processing. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is necessary for this role.

• Familiarity with Acomba accounting software is required.

• Knowledge of Cl Programming is advantageous.

• Prior experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a distinct advantage.

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 system is beneficial.

• Experience with About Time software is a plus.

• Demonstrable knowledge of Accounting Functions is essential.

• Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is required.

• Experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.

• Ability to perform Check Processing tasks is expected.
