Universal Health Services Dietary Manager in NEW KENT, Virginia

Responsibilities

Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents , a 110 bed state licensed and Joint Commission accredited specialty rehabilitation hospital, is located on 98 acres of riverfront land between Richmond and Williamsburg, Virginia in New Kent County. We provide specialized care for young people whose disabilities, injuries or lifelong illnesses are compounded by emotional and/or behavioral problems. We currently have a Full-Time Dietary Manager position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:

The Dietary Manager of Food and Nutritional Services is an exciting opportunity for an energetic manager. This key leadership position is directly responsible for the successful operation of Food & Nutrition Services in the Hospital. The Dietary Manager ensures client, customer service/satisfaction with efficient cost effective management meeting and exceeding stated expectations. Responsible for food service-related activities; non-patient care (cafeteria, catering etc.), quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all hospital-related activities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Certified Dietary Manager or Registered Dietitian preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Culinary Arts or Hotel/Restaurant Management is highly desirable; having completed Certified Dietary Management program preferred .

  • Hospital experience is preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) plus years of food management experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training.

  • Direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control.

  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

  • Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, customers (patients and staff).

  • Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet.

  • Must have ServSafe® Certification.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (State and Federal) and a drug screen.
