Vail Resorts Revenue Accounting Analyst in Nevada

Job Summary:
The Revenue Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring the proper recording and reporting of revenue transactions and adjustments for the Mountain Segment. Additionally, this role will be an integral part of the month end, quarter-end and year-end close processes. Responsibilities include journal entry preparation, balance sheet account reconciliation and fluctuation analysis. The Revenue Accounting team oversees all deferred revenue accounts for the Mountain Segment, the daily ledger, product setup review, land use fee calculations and revenue recognition within various point of sale systems. These responsibilities involve constant communication between our key stakeholders including IT, Finance, Marketing, and other groups within the Accounting organization to ensure accurate revenue recognition. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual and a self-starter who can identify opportunities, propose solutions, and see them through to completion.

Job Responsibilities:
Perform review of revenue product set-up prior to winter and summer seasons to understand and ensure accurate product set-up and revenue recognition in revenue source systems
Reconciling differences between the GL and daily ledger, and make adjustments as necessary
Perform monthly journal entries to appropriately recognize and adjust revenue relating to on-mountain revenue
Analyze, review, and prepare complex deferred revenue balance sheet reconciliations, including accounts impacted by foreign currency
Utilize and create system reports to improve processes
Ensure compliance with key SOX requirements for accounting/finance organization and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Focus on ongoing process improvement, making recommendations and participating in initiatives to improve efficiency
Active participation in driving results to meet individual, team, and department objectives
Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance
2 + years accounting experience
Strong accounting/finance knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Self-starter with a drive for excellence, ability to build strong working relationships, and a proven ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Experience in PeopleSoft, Blackline, Alteryx, SQL reporting, RPOS and nVision is a plus
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $55,000.00 - $72,125.00. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
