NEENAH FOUNDRY CO Operations Manager in NEENAH, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description The Operations Manager provides leadership to a team of salary exempt and union employees in a continuous process Foundry manufacturing environment. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and profitability metrics are met through proper coaching and supervision of employees. The Operations Manager is to plan, direct, and coordinate all assigned aspects of foundry operations which may include Melt, Core, Molding, and Finishing departments. Essential Functions Job duties may change over time and additional job functions may become essential. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. o Lead, coach, and mentor production supervisors to achieve goals, while demonstrating role model behavior o Oversee all shifts of assigned departments o Ensure that supervisors are aware of and adhere to plant safety rules; work with the supervisors to develop a safety culture o Plan and direct production activities, while considering operation needs and cost factors o Coordinate production activities with purchasing, maintenance, and quality to achieve production and scrap goals o Conduct daily production meeting with supervisors o Ensure that employees know and understand customer and quality requirements and expectations o Develop and revise production schedules and priorities as a result of customer requirements, equipment failure, or operating problems o Identify and develop continuous improvements to production processes with the supervisors or CI team o Manage and oversee 5S projects including development, implementation and auditing o Ensure process corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective in solving the issue o Assign employees to work schedules, work centers, and plan appropriate levels based on production needs and capacity o Troubleshoot processes and/or procedures to find the root cause on an issue and find a resolution o Attain departmental goals in regard to Safety, 5S, Quality, Productivity and Profitability KPI\'s on a regular basis o Control labor, material and supply utilization. Evaluate performance against the established standard; take necessary corrective action to meet or exceed standard Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs) o Ability to interview, coach, counsel, motivate, train, and communicate objectives o Ability to deal with issues with multiple variables such as process improvement and resolution of poor performance on an individual or departmental basis o Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication across different levels and departments o Ability to...
