Position Summary/Description:

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division in the Department of Pediatrics at UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a general pediatrician or pediatric emergency physician to fill a full-time, fixed term, Clinical Assistant Professor position to provide direct patient care solely in the Children’s Urgent Care in Raleigh or a hybrid of Children’s Urgent Care and low acuity Pediatric ED shifts in Chapel Hill. The Children’s Urgent Care is open from 4p-midnight Monday-Friday and noon-midnight on weekends and serves patients from birth through young adulthood.

Responsibilities include teaching and supervising residents from a variety of specialties and learners from various healthcare professions including medical students, NP and PA students.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 1 year experience post-residency in pediatric urgent care or emergency medicine or

pediatric urgent care or emergency medicine fellowship training.

  • Ideal candidates will have relevant training or experience treating acute illness and injuries; as well as comfort and competence with minor procedures and reading plain radiographs.
