Job Summary and Qualifications

The NICU/Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Manager has oversight over the NICU Blood Gas Lab and the NICU and Pediatric Respiratory Therapy department. The manager will be responsible for all regulatory compliance for the Blood Gas lab. The manager will serve as the resource person for Neonatal and Pediatric respiratory care practices.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will maintain compliance with federal, state and other governing bodies such as Joint Commission and the State of Tennessee for the NICU Blood Gas Lab.

  • You will develop department goals/objectives and employee engagement action planning.

  • You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients served.

  • Your role serves as resource person for hospital staff and physicians regarding current practices in respiratory care.

  • You will oversee care of patients, providing support and expertise to staff.

  • You will be responsible for workflow of department by ensuring proper staff levels.

  • You will perform annual reviews with staff members by evaluation date.

  • You role creates staffing schedules and ensures that staff members adhere to schedule.

  • You role will demonstrate interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, relatives, physicians, managers and other employee

  • You will ensure that department supplies and equipment are maintained appropriately, are cost effective and prevent waste.

  • You role communicates departmental needs, problems and other necessary information in a timely manner.

  • You will assure clinical competency of staff.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in NICU and Pediatrics Respiratory Care.

  • Graduate of an accredited AMA School for Respiratory Therapy

  • Bachelor Degree recommended

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

  • STABLE must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist
