Philips Data Governance Leader in Nashville, Tennessee

Data Governance Leader (Nashville, TN)

Using your strong expertise in data stewardship and governance, you play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework within Philips North America. You are responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and enforcement of data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the quality, integrity, security, and accessibility of data assets. You act as a guardian of data assets, overseeing its management and use throughout its lifecycle that will help create and maintain the core foundation of operations and marketing-related data from which North American Analytics solutions and niche applications will be built. Here are the details of your role:

Your role:

  • In collaboration with the Global Data Governance team, create a comprehensive data governance framework aligned with Philips North America Operations’ organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures that address data quality, security, access, usage, and retention.

  • Drive the development and execution of Data Quality strategies, help identify and resolve data quality issues, and perform data quality audits and assessments.

  • Initiate and manage data quality improvement projects in collaboration with the Data Delivery team.

  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of data quality standards working with the Data Delivery team.

  • Lead the data governance team, coordinating and prioritizing activities and reporting on progress and metrics of Data Governance.

  • Conduct the education of stakeholders on data governance and data quality best practices.

  • Define and implement data privacy measures in accordance with Philips policy and industry regulatory guidelines, working with the Data Engineering teams.

  • Foster a culture of data ownership and accountability, promoting awareness and understanding of data governance principles across the organization.

  • Educate tool and data delivery teams on data availability, usage and interpretation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is used effectively.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest Master Data Management and Data Governance services and technologies.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business analytics, finance, accounting or a related field

  • 6+ years in data governance or data management

  • Proven track record to develop and implement data governance policies and procedures

  • Strong knowledge in data governance principles, frameworks and best practices

  • Knowledge of project and program management principles

  • Knowledge of Master Data Management platforms, particularly Informatica MDM or Azure Purview

  • Experience with data processing languages such as SQL, Python, and Scala

  • Experience with agile methodologies on Azure DevOps and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an obsessive attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders

  • Experience in Healthcare or Medical Technology Sectors, preferred

  • Professional certification in Data Governance and/or Data Quality, preferred

  • Experience with data modeling and database design, preferred
