Job Summary and Qualifications

The Assistant Vice President of Labor Management is responsible for organizational labor management strategy and program outcomes. As part of this, the AVP of Labor Management is responsible for developing roadmaps and leading comprehensive programs that leverage resources available to maximize realized value and drive continuous improvement in areas of capacity management, productivity, quality and effectiveness. This position will work closely with the Operations Analytics team to inform prioritization of application development and reporting efforts, as well as senior leadership across Parallon and engaged HCA service lines as a partner with the common goal of achieving best practices in staffing excellence.

The AVP of Labor Management is responsible for establishing a robust and sustainable team of resources, including both direct reports and matrix reporting relationships, which will span a broad range of functional areas. This position requires solid leadership, trust building, team building and change management skills to effectively deliver on staffing initiatives. This individual must possess excellent communication skills, proven facilitation skills, have an executive presence, and a demonstrated track record of delivering results and attaining goals. It has frequent interaction with the Parallon leadership team, including but not limited to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, various Vice Presidents, and other executive leadership team members.

What you will do in this role:

  • Lead in the development and administration of comprehensive and ongoing programs in the areas of capacity management, productivity, quality and effectiveness.

  • Build, manage, and grow resources to ensure continuity and consistency in labor management activities.

  • Serves as business owner and subject matter expert for reporting tools and services, including standard reporting systems and ad-hoc reporting and analysis products.

  • Develops reports and tools to analyze and interpret financial and statistical information to enable executive management to review operating results.

  • Builds a culture of quality and review that ensure completeness and accuracy of all reporting deliverables.

  • Advances new ways to analyze and visualize data and information to provide operational decision-making value.

  • Maintains effective communication with Parallon and HCA Healthcare executive leadership team and field leadership teams on the current accuracy and status of reports and reporting tools.

  • Provides complex ad hoc statistical, and operational reports and analyses as requested by management teams.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with Parallon departments and the Parallon Shared Service Centers to help ensure consistent accumulation and reporting of information across different areas and departments.

  • Maintains Parallon enterprise serving crosswalks utilized in labor management reporting

  • Provides reporting support and guidance to Parallon corporate users and Parallon’s Shared Service Centers.

  • Mentors future leaders and takes a lead role in succession planning

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting or Finance. Equivalent work experience may substitute certain education requirements if individual has served as a staffing leader in a prior role.

  • Master’s in business, health administration or in a quantitative field tied to work experience preferred

  • 10 years in progressive leadership roles with emphasis in process improvement and functioning as a staffing leader

  • Staff management experience, which includes in-depth knowledge of staffing metrics

  • Experience within healthcare provider finance operations, operational consolidation and shared services a plus.

  • Lean Six Sigma preferred
