Grand Strand Medical Center is looking for a full time Mechanic!

Requirements:

• High school disploma or equivalent

• 2-3 years experience specific to trade and/or responsibilities

Position Summary: Performs routine repairs and have some experience in building, mechanical or equipment maintenance and operation. Has authority to call in other trades under maintenances agreements to respond during emergencies. List of emergency call list posted in the Plant Operations Shop. Maintenance Mechanic I is not responsible for on-call or call back until after 12 month evaluation and promoted to Maintenance Mechanic II.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates knowledge of medical center Fire and Safety Plan.

• Performs a range of maintenance repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other components of the medical center plant operations or duties as assigned.

• Responsible for keeping up with the departmental training guide to become oriented with all facility equipment, and all off-site locations.

• Assembles furniture, equipment, and any assembly needed items prior to delivery to other departments.

• Reviews work orders and immediately report to supervisor any orders which cannot be completed in a timely manner.

• Replaces ceiling tiles and performs hardware maintenance on doors, windows and associated equipment, following local, state and national codes, giving particular attention where ADA codes apply.

• Cleans sprinkler heads, supply/return air duct registers on a routine basis.

• Assist with general maintenance and construction functions as directed following all state, local and national codes.

• Responsible for indoor touchup painting and patching and minor repairs to furnishings
