Intuit Staff Technical Data Analyst in Mountain View, California

Overview

Intuit is currently seeking a passionate and data-driven individual to join its Finance and Operations Analytics team. The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for transforming Intuit Finance and Operations through the application of machine learning, predictive analytics, and actionable insights. In this position, you will be key in performing company level analyses, identifying and implementing AI/ML opportunities, and executing data-based decisions. This role presents a unique combination of both finance and data analytics, and requires someone who is highly analytical, strategic, an excellent communicator and is comfortable with ambiguity.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to independently manage their own data, identify and measure business and growth drivers, and provide insights for a broader audience. Responsibilities of the role include building reporting dashboards, deriving insights from existing datasets, defining success metrics for new initiatives, and building models to enable accurate forecasting. You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Business Operations, Data Science, Finance, and Engineering teams.

What you'll bring

  • Strong business acumen and exceptional analytical ability with 5+ years of industry experience with data analysis/data science/operations research

  • Proficient in SQL, data visualization (Qlik, Tableau,QuickSight), and scripting languages (Python, R, Javascript)

  • Experience implementing advanced statistical models such as time series forecast, clustering, classification, regression, decision trees, random forest.

  • Understanding forecasting processes, financial reporting, and other accounting and financial concepts.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet objectives and key deadlines, balancing short & long term strategic implications to meet and/or exceed business objectives

  • Outstanding communications skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues, think critically, iterate quickly, and partner across a wide variety of functions to drive changes

  • BS, MS or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, or equivalent work experience

How you will lead

  • Aligning KPIs & Metrics: Work with cross-functional teams to drive alignment on KPIs and crucial metrics that help track team-specific and company-wide trends, growth initiatives, and overall business performance.

  • Developing Machine Learning Models: Develop Machine Learning models to forecast critical financial metrics that impact the business's growth and success. Mange end to end aspects of complex analytics model/project build (i.e., scope, requirements gathering/finalizing, stakeholder management, communication, project management)

  • Generate Insights: Leverage statistical methods, perform causal analysis, analyze data, and generate insights into the drivers of the business.

  • Building Dashboards and Data: Collaborate with the team to design and build comprehensive dashboards and data sets to support Finance and Operations decision-making processes.
