Overview

Join the Intuit Futures team as a Sr. Researcher. Intuit has a unique opportunity to lead the industry in solving the most painful customer problems small business owners and consumers face. By anticipating future customer needs and understanding external technology trends, our Futures team develops and incubates emerging technologies, user experiences, and capabilities that have the potential to be transformative to our customers, products, and business. You will be part of a talented multi-disciplinary team of designers, technologists, engineers, data scientists, and other mixed methods researchers incubating trajectory changing experiences and services for Intuit.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Psychology or an equivalent field in the behavioral sciences, Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • Can conduct quantitative analysis in R, SPSS or Python

  • At least five years of industry experience as a hands-on researcher, working across multiple platforms

  • Expertise in a broad range of methodologies including: quantitative research, A/B testing, ethnographic research, interviews, usability testing, and putting together long-term research plans

  • Superior creativity and passion for what you do

  • Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage complex projects in a timely manner

  • Strong leadership qualities that enable you to lead cross-functional teams and third party partners when needed

  • Able to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information and present the results to the stakeholders

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Portfolio that includes examples of leading strategic research with significant business outcomes

How you will lead

  • Accelerate game-changing customer experiences by leading strategic and experimental research that provides actionable insights around emerging technologies. Help cross-functional teams apply those insights to create delightful, innovative offerings.

  • Scale community knowledge around research methods for today (e.g. behavioral science/psychology) and the future.

  • Plan and execute original experimental research on strategic initiatives, from identifying the topic of research to distilling findings in a way that is consumed by product teams.

  • Lead all project team mixed-methods research activities such as live product experimentation, new product brainstorms, early concept exploration, requirements gathering, post-product release analysis, and long-term strategic research planning.

  • Work seamlessly as a key team member on cross-functional product teams, from designers and data scientists to product managers and engineers.

  • Actively participate in and foster the broader research and design community.

  • The Mixed Methods Researcher, through close collaboration with both internal and external customers, will help us to identify the biggest opportunities and then guide teams to conceive of and shape products and services that delight.

  • The Mixed Method Researcher's goal is to inform and inspire teams, by virtue of their research expertise and by involving customers throughout the design process, to help make new and innovative solutions intuitive, seamless and as value-generating as possible.

  • The ideal candidate will exhibit deep understanding of experimental design and data analysis, be well-versed in a number of research methodologies (preferably quantitative research), be capable of creating long term research plans and protocols, involve cross-functional teams in the gathering of customer feedback, and make product and experience recommendations that meet the future needs of Intuit’s customers.
