Intuit Principal Software Engineer in Mountain View, California

Overview

The team is building and driving critical services that power the web apps and plugins registries, runtime and rendering. In this position, you will have the opportunity to make a massive impact on Intuit’s transformation into an AI-driven expert platform. Come join Intuit’s DevX team as a Principal Engineer leading the AppFabric services team and shaping how Intuit designs, crafts, operates, and runs web applications.

We are seeking a Principal Engineer with a strong background and passion for building successful web applications, services, and APIs that deliver big value to customers. You are comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and changes. You love to take initiative, and have a bias towards action.

What you'll bring

  • 12+ years of overall experience with over 5+ years in a technical leadership role.

  • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience building and operating large-scale, consumer-facing web applications and services.

  • Passion for being a technology ambassador and coaching engineering excellence and software engineering craft to junior engineers.

  • Proficiency in server-side technologies, cloud technologies, web development, and the desire to lead a multi-disciplinary team operating in a DevOps model.

  • Able to operate at highly varying levels of abstraction from business strategy to product strategy to high-level technical design to detailed technical design to implementation

  • Strong understanding of the Software design/architecture/data-backed-decision-making processes. Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with contract-first API development and a passion for evangelizing this practice among others.

  • Deep expertise in service design, discovery, and runtime orchestration systems.

  • Experience building and operating a high traffic services & APIs
