GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Maintenance Technician supports the company's maintenance department by performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in a timely manner to keep production flowing and maintain quality standards. This position works closely with the production staff and safety committee to ensure predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes support the achievement of the company's business goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Performs maintenance activities on machines, equipment and plant facilities. 2.Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production. 3.Provides technical support to our manufacturing processes. 4.Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, while troubleshooting & repairing of production machines. 5.Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. 6.Detect faulty operations or defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor. 7.Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities. 8.Work together with other maintenance personnel on large projects to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner. 9.Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. 10.May perform basic electrical maintenance and repairs on machines, equipment & facilities. 11.Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. 12.Supports all company policies and procedures. 13.Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; E.G. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None

COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to listen, understand and express themselves well; Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to do basic math calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. General knowledge of measures & weights along with ratios and percentages.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
