Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a Cytologist (Full Time) for the Cytology Department at our Atlantic Consolidated Laboratory in Morristown, NJ.

• Performs specimen preparation and analysis

• Participates in the FNA biopsy service including rapid on-site assessment to evaluate specimen adequacy

• Documents the slide interpretation results of both GYN and Non-GYN Cytology cases

• Documents the number of slides read and the number of hours spent examining slides in each 24-hour period

• Recognizes and resolves any specimen related problems or inconsistencies

• Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Control: performs and documents daily QC according to established laboratory protocol

• Practices Standard Precautions and adheres to all other laboratory safety policies

• Demonstrates knowledge of and practices department safety procedures including the safe handling of chemical and hazardous substances

• Maintains appropriate licensure requirements

• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Education:

• Bachelors degree in clinical, lab, physical or biological science required

• CT (ASCP) eligible or registered

Minimum Experience:

• Prior experience working in Cytology is a preferred

• 1-3 years of clinical experience preferred
