Tatum by Randstad is currently assisting a growing company in the within the Commercial Contracting Industry with their Senior Accountant search. The company is currently growing tremendously by acquisitions, and are in the process of acquiring several other companies within their industry. The Senior Accountant will also have the opportunity to learn about the mergers & acquisitions side of the business since this individual will work closely with the CEO on M&A projects. If you are looking to grow into an Accounting Manager or Controller role pretty quickly, this could be your next opportunity!

This opportunity is a temporary-to-hire role and would be an onsite position based near Morgan Hill, CA area for the first 2 -3 months, then can be a hybrid working schedule with 2 days working remotely.

The pay range for this contract-to-hire position is $50 to $60/hr. based on experience, and is an immediate need!

responsibilities:

• Primary responsibilities include assisting in month-end closing, ensuring financials are accurate for each entity.

• Responsible for generation of journal entries including reclassification and accruals.

• Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are appropriately recorded on a monthly basis in accordance with GAAP.

• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Reconcile intercompany transactions; assist with accounts payable as needed.

• Document and analyze monthly expense and balance sheet fluctuations at various levels of detail.

• Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis, prepare and report variances from budget.

• Work closely with Branch Managers on monthly financials and accounts receivable reporting.

• Assist Controller with driving qualitative improvements in all areas of accounting, reporting, and controls to become more efficient and to reduce/eliminate control deficiencies.

qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience required; previous experience working as an accountant within construction, landscaping, or related industry highly preferred.

• Previous experience with QuickBooks required.

• Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup's).
