Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR) is searching for a qualified SQL Server DBA to join our team in support of an Army Program - Army Selection Board System (ASBS). The Army Selection Board System (ASBS) is a web-based application used in the reviewing and recording Soldiers potential for promotion and other selections such as Command or Schools. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in database management, troubleshooting, administration and migration.

Job responsibilities and duties are below but not limited to:

• Provides database expertise to the software development team in the design, development and maintenance of the ASBS database environment.
• Performs complex analysis and design of databases.
• Ensures proper configuration of the database for performance, provides guidance on optimization, develops logic and physical designs, develops and maintains the data dictionary, and enforces standards for database use and security.
• Evaluates the data processing techniques, database management, and management information system concepts and applications as they relate to customer information requirements and provides feedback for continuous improvement activities.
• Ensures all required database administration policies, procedures, cybersecurity standards, and guidelines are met.
• Manages multiple database environments to meet customer and company standards while maintaining operational data accuracy.
• Interprets feedback and change suggestions from customer and development/design team and incorporates updates to existing database environments.
• The selected candidate must be an excellent communicator, problem solver, and actively independent thinker.
• The selected candidate must be able to work as part of a team and be willing to mentor others.

Requirements

• Candidate must be a US Citizen
• Candidate must have a DoD Secret Clearance
• Candidate must have CompTIA Security+ or other applicable 8570 IAT Level II certification
• Candidate must have 5+ years' experience supporting application development in a MS SQL Server environment.

Desired knowledge, skills, abilities:

• Prior knowledge of Military service is helpful, provides a basis understanding of Domain values.

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Salary Description $100,000 - $140,000 yearly
