Status: Full-time Professional

Annual Salary Range: $122,616 - $173,316

*Salary commensurate with education and experience.

*Job Summary*

As an Internal Quality Assurance Manager at BPMI, you will oversee the activity of the internal quality assurance unit. A successful candidate will be able to exert leadership and influence to sustain and improve BPMI's internal quality. Additionally, they will be able to counteract complacency, demographic changes, and other adverse influencing factors. They will have the ability to foresee, diagnose, and mitigate quality risks. The Internal Quality Assurance Manager will maintain and improve Quality Systems that ensure compliance with applicable policies while increasing the overall company efficiency.

*Essential Duties:*

 

 

  • Manage and provide oversight of BPMI internal processes for quality, knowledge-sharing and learning (e.g., BPMI Cause and Corrective Action Process, BPMI Lessons Learned process, BPMI Internal Audit program, BPMI Self-Assessment program, Quality-related training for new and current employees, etc.).
  • Manage systematic and strategic monitoring of all metrics, self-assessments, and informal indicators for trends and issues and report to and advise senior management when appropriate. Manage the development of proactive and reactive metrics to measure performance. Use these metrics and assessments to assess and report on the effectiveness of processes and improvement actions; recommend process improvements or additional actions.
  • Assist departments in developing their own internal metrics which support development and analysis of proactive and reactive company-wide performance metrics.
  • Champion company-wide quality of work and continuous learning, including process improvement through Lean-Six Sigma processes and tools, Change Management, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and provide leadership, oversight and a strategic vision of BPMI actions to comply with NAVSEA requirements and expectations for an effective quality management system.
  • Collaborate and interface periodically with the Naval Nuclear Laboratory on company-wide quality issues and with ANSTR on quality issues and current events.
  • Manage and provide oversight of the BPMI Quality Program Document System and document content.
  • Maintain knowledge in industry-wide practices for quality, changing technology, laws, and/or regulations; conduct research into new concepts, processes and regulations to provide appropriate recommendations to resolve problems and/or create new policy, procedures, and methods.
  • Organize, manage, and direct the efforts of assigned personnel responsible for implementation of quality assurance program requirements.
  • Evaluate performance and provide coaching/professional development of direct reports and have influence in compensation and hire/fire decisions in accordance with company policy.
  • Responsible for ensuring the execution of business and operations work: developing and applying business principles and acumen to accomplish work, including assurance of appropriate review.
  • Participate in and support special department, Company, Program, and/or corporate initiatives and projects, including serving as a member on one or more Company standing committees.
  • Perform duties of derivative classifier (DC) and qualify as media offload DC responsible for the proper security and classification of unit work.

*Minimum Job Requirements:*

 

 

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality or Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience.
  • Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.

*Preferred Job Requirements:*

 

 

 

 

  • Advanced degree in Quality or Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience in Quality Assurance
  • ASQ membership and/or certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management, facilitate trainings and presentations and act with diplomacy when communicating with employees, managers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Lean-Six Sigma processes.
  • Experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience.
