DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Experienced Development Technician

Pittsburgh, PA

The Specialty Synthesis Group (SSG) - Process Development team is looking to add an Experienced Development Technician to the dynamic group. The development technician's primary responsibility will be to scale up novel OLED emitters within a kilo lab setting.

You will report to the S&T Supervisor. You will be working on-site at our Monroeville, PA, facility outside of Pittsburgh.

Responsibilities: * Safely and efficiently operate equipment to prescribed instructions in PPG's OLED kilo lab to complete various stages of chemical processing. * This will include heating and cooling reactors, operating pumps and vacuum pumps for chemical transfers, distillations, filtrations and drying * Follow batch sheet instructions to produce products * Document operations and results for kilo lab batches * Maintain supply of solvents and basic lab supplies * Works in a safe manner. Reads, understands and follows all pertinent SOPs. * Effectively communicates within the development team and provides regular updates to chemists and group leaders.

Qualifications: * High School graduate/equivalent required. * Three (3) or more years of experience in chemical manufacturing industry * Mechanical aptitude and high level of safety awareness. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day. * Familiarity in a production or laboratory environment. * Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work and in a team-oriented environment.
