Monroe County Opportunity Program Home Care Worker in Monroe, Michigan

*TITLE: *Home Care Worker *SUPERVISOR: *Aging & Disability Resource Director *SUPERVISES: *No one *CLASSIFICATION: *Full-Time (40 hours per week) & Part-Time (up to 29 hours per week) available *STARTING WAGE: *$14.50

*JOB GOAL: *To assist Monroe County residents with light housekeeping, personal care duties, and respite for caregivers to help maintain independence and create a safe and healthy environment.

DUTIES:

  • Follow individual client care plan in performing duties.
  • Provide or assist with personal care i.e. bath, hair care, foot care, grooming, dressing and ambulation.
  • On routine basis observe and report client condition including physical, mental and emotional changes.
  • Identify and report client needs.
  • Perform or assist with necessary homemaking duties i.e. light housekeeping, laundry, money management and meal preparation.
  • Call clients to confirm their scheduled day and time.
  • Keep client logs, time sheets and mileage sheets.
  • Collect & receipt all program income/cost share monies from clients, turning into office immediately for processing.
  • Actively participate in agency fundraising.
  • Report to Director or Specialist on a daily basis regarding any schedule changes.
  • Must report to supervisor all cases of suspected abuse.
  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • All other duties as directed by director.
  • Comply with Federal Privacy Act Regulation.

*QUALIFICATIONS: *High School diploma or its equivalent, some training preferred or one-year nursing facility experience. Must have reliable transportation, good driving record, valid driver's license and proof of current insurance policy.

*Terms of Employment: *Regular Full-time or Part-time on-the-road/at clients' homes in conjunction with the MCOP Central Office, 1140 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161.
