Dietary Aide

Location: Trinity Health PACE – Mercy Life of Alabama

Status: Full Time

Shift: Monday-Friday, Day Shift, 8 hours

Position Purpose:

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed and assure that quality dietary services are provided on a daily basis. Responsible for maintaining the dietary department in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.

This position will be housed at Mercy Life of Alabama

What you will do:

· Maintain the cleanliness of the serving kitchen and equipment and preforms scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.

· Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures.

· Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as with other departments within the program to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the participants.

· Maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed.

· Assist in preparing and serving nutritional supplements and snacks under the direction of the Dietitian or designee.

· Work in various line functions as assigned to include setting up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc.

· Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions within the kitchen area.

· Participate in and supports Quality Improvement Initiatives.

· Maintain the confidentiality of all PACE Organization (PO) procedures, results, and information about participants, families, and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Active certified nurse assistant in the state where PACE Organization is located preferred.

· Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.

· Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.

· Primarily works inside with frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 20 pounds if applicable.

o Physical mobility that includes movement from place to place.

o Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

o Physical agility, that includes ability to maneuver body while in place.

o Dexterity of hands and fingers.

o Coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot.
