If you're interested in expanding your portfolio of professional experience into the important world of oral health research, this opportunity might be for you. The salary range for this position is $52,000-57,000 year depending on the experience you bring to the position. This position can support a hybrid work schedule, with the minority of days working remotely and will vary depending on the research study assignments. This position is based on the University of Minnesota's East Bank campus in Minneapolis in the School of Dentistry. This Clinical Research Coordinator coordinates research projects for faculty in the School of Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. This research is done in the Oral Health Clinical Research Center in the School of Dentistry. The person in this position performs structured research related work assignments that require knowledge and experience in dental clinical research, particularly in regard to Federal and State regulations and updates, and the University's reporting requirements and procedures. This position serves as a technical resource to research investigators and staff at the School of Dentistry. This position will identify problems such as inconsistencies (e.g., pertaining to research protocols) and notify investigators about the issues for resolution. Responsibilities Clinical Research Coordination (70%) * Patient recruitment, screening, consent, enrollment, and registrations. * Perform study data collection and entry; collect enrollment and treatment data, using charts, correspondence, electronic medical records, and personal communications with other healthcare workers. * Assist with implementation, management, coordination, and documentation of all study activities. * Ensure that components of research projects are completed in an ethically, scientifically, rigorous and timely manner. * Provide administrative support to initiate research projects. Responsibilities include assisting with acquiring internal approvals, documentation and regulation management. General Administrative Support (30%) * Provide general administrative support for the Center, including but not limited to scheduling, ordering supplies, processing invoices, maintaining blanket orders, and reconciling purchasing cards. Preferred Qualifications * Experience working in a university-based dental school. About the Department The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is the state's only dental school and the only dental school in the northern tier of states between Wisconsin and the Pacific Northwest. We are a regional resource to five states for dental education, consulting services, patient treatment, and ongoing continuing dental education. We educate dentists, dental specialists, dental therapists, dental hygienists, dental educators and research-scientists. We offer advanced degree programs in seven ADA-recognized specialties: endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics and TMD and orofacial pain. We educate scholars in oral biology, dental hygiene and oral health for older adults. Dentists from other countries who wish to practice in the United States matriculate through our Program for Advanced Standing Students. Learners have the option to pursue a Masters in Public Health or a PhD alongside their DD degree. We are the only dental hygiene program in the state associated with a dental school. Offering programs at the baccalaureate and master of science level, our integrated program prepares oral health professionals to collaborate from their first day in the profession. We became the first dental school in the nation to educate dental therapists in 2009. Dental therapists perform basic preventative services, drill and restore teeth for children and adults and remove primary teeth under the supervision of a licensed dentist. As of 2023, we have graduated 91 dental therapists from the program. Our work affects virtually every person in Minnesota. We educate approximately 73% of the state's practicing dentists, 68% of licensed dental therapists, and 49% of dental hygiene educators. Our researchers develop and test restorative materials used by dentists around the world. We provide critical oral health care with more than 100,000 patient visits in our campus clinics and more than 16,000 patient visits at outreach sites in underserved communities throughout the state.
