Set up, operate, and troubleshoot special purpose and miscellaneous light machines and equipment to perform a variety of operations. Instruct and train other operators. Assembles a variety of parts and sub-assemblies. Performs a variety of calibration and test functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use the computer to access work instructions, and to access and/or input labor tracking, work in progress tracking, non-conformance tracking, configuration information, and RIP location look-ups.

  • Set up, operate and troubleshoot a variety of assembly process machines.

  • Set-up and performs TQC’s, visual, mechanical, and electrical checks on parts, sub-assemblies and devices. Check quality of parts being run, repositions, realigns and fastens tools and fixtures. Replace broken or bent tools and makes necessary adjustments to keep machines in operation.

  • Participates in team self-assessment, process improvement activities and maintain process control charts.

  • May be required to attend and participate in teaming activities to support business objectives.

  • Instruct and train other operators in all aspects of the job.

  • Performs a variety of mechanical assembly functions such as label and nameplate making, stamping, potting, crimping, fastening, soldering, laser beam welding, wire wrap, epoxy application, masking, unmasking, and packing. Press a variety of assemblies and sub-assemblies.

  • Loads and unloads a variety of ovens and curing stations.

  • Performs all touch-up, rework, repair, and modification on a variety of components, assemblies and devices.

  • Get own parts and material from RIP areas.

  • Clean parts using plasma cleaner, sonic cleaner and other mechanical and manual processes.

  • Performs any operations in the line and may be assigned to other duties when production conditions require it.

  • May be required to perform work per print, parts lists, maintenance manuals, engineering change orders or oral instructions from engineering.

  • Successful completion of classroom and/or on the job certification or qualification programs is required.
