MILWAUKEE METROPOLITAN SEWERAGE Senior Project Manager in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

Join our diverse team and support your community while protecting our environment. MMSD is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Project Manager in the Technical Services Division. Reporting to the Conveyance Program Manager, you provide project management for capital and operation and maintenance (O&M) studies, planning, design, and construction ensuring the completion of projects on time, within budget, and the needs of various stakeholders are met. These projects involve the development of cost-effective solutions to wastewater, biosolids, energy, conveyance, and asset management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *Prepare and advertise requests for proposals (RFP) for procurement of engineering services related to assigned projects. *Manage consultants to ensure conformance with MMSD policies, procedures, standards, construction documents, and design criteria. *Ensure the completion of all required documentation, record documents, drawings, etc. *Manage and administer contracts to ensure that all provisions of the contract are in compliance with contract documents and regulations. *Prepare and provide estimates for MMSD\'s budgeting process. *Provide monthly status reports on projects to management as requested. *Review records of MMSD\'s facilities for assigned projects, and evaluate projects related to data and planning reports. *Determine project scope and work necessary to evaluate specific engineering and design issues and decide on a project charter. *Organize, establish, and coordinate teams to collaborate and contribute through project completion. *Perform stakeholder coordination on assigned work. *Assist other project managers and provide quality control reviews of engineering reports, technical memos, plans, specifications, and other deliverables. *Manage acquisition of all required easements, permits, and intergovernmental cooperation agreements related to assigned projects. *Assist various internal departments with technical expertise as needed. *Complete special projects as assigned. Supplemental Information WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, you will work in an office environment the majority of the time and be exposed to outside weather conditions minimally. While outside, or at the treatment plant, employee may be exposed to extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, noise, fumes, odors, and risk of electrical shock. Ability to enter a tunnel, walk on uneven terrain, and access a confined space area. Requires the use of safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, coverall, gloves, rain gear, and safety vest as dictated by the location of work being performed. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: *Bachelor\'s degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or a related engineering field. *Minimum of six years of job-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. *Professional Engineer (PE) license required. *Experience with wastewater, sewer, or watercourse. *Strong project management skills. *High degree of interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to resolve conflict. *Ability to apply engineering principles and practices to the solution of engineering problems. *Experience in managing and monitoring project budgets. *Ability to apply knowledge of OSHA confined entry procedures to the safe completion of job duties. *Scheduling and GIS software ex erience is desirable. *Familiarity with wastewater treatment processes/operations, sewer conveyance, and storage systems is desirable. *NASSCO PACP certification is desirable. *Computer software proficiency. *Valid driver\'s license and a good driving record at time of application, during the selection process, and throughout employment.
