We partner with each patient to address their unique needs in order to provide relationship-based care. Our patient population includes: CHF, COPD, PNA, ESRD, DM, AMS, Cirrhosis, Pancreatitis, and much more. Every day on 8NT is different as our patient population changes, but our staff unites together daily to encourage high-quality care. As an organization, Froedtert offers at least 9 weeks of orientation with a dedicated preceptor and positive mentoring in a hands-on learning environment. Froedtert is unique in that there is no mandatory over-time. Frequently utilized skills include: Foley insertions, wound cares, PEG tube medications, PCA pump, trach cares/suctioning, IV/central line medications, and chest tube maintenance. The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population.
