Many of our patients require advanced monitoring, or an elevated level of care. RN\'s obtain specialized skills to care for this population including being ACLS trained within 1 year of RN hire. Specialties often cared for on 3WEST include, cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, lung/heart transplant, trans-venous pacing, mechanical circulatory support, and DKA management, as well as patients with increased oxygen needs. 3WEST is a great place to learn while achieving an elevated scope of practice outside of the ICU setting.
