JOB REQUIREMENTS: What you will do The BMS + Fire Controller will drive results in the accounting functions that support a cluster of sub-business units (PBUs) for the Global Products (GP) segment. This role, reporting through Controllership under the Chief Accounting & Tax Officer organization, will serve as an advisor to the business unit finance leadership across GP and functional centers of excellence to ensure accounting and reporting integrity and effective controls and compliance, confirming consistency to US GAAP and Company policy. This strategic individual will lead the reporting and monitoring of actual results and control of financial results consistent with long-term business objectives. This person will provide direction, training and counseling to its various stakeholders on a wide variety of business/financial/accounting issues to ensure achievement and alignment of business processes across the enterprise. How you will do it Proactively works with the PBUs to oversee, review and sign-off on the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes. This includes review of the key reserves and account reconciliations and overall balance sheet, cash flow and financial metric trends to ensure accuracy and potential gaps. Ensure that strong controls are implemented and maintained for key projects that include functional centers of excellence migrations and IT implementations. Identify opportunities and drive movement of activities to the Company\'s centers of excellence (e.g. Record to Report), including standardization. Liaison with cross functional teams (Technical Accounting, Governance, Business Unit Finance, etc.) and peers to ensure a harmonized environment throughout the Controllership organization. Monitors and supports the internal control function to ensure controls in the represented PBUs are adequate, efficient and in line with the Company\'s and locally managed policies. Participate on cross-functional teams to support financial accounting, reporting and control activities for complex transactions within BMS and Fire PBUs (restructurings, supplier contracts, M&A, leases, etc.) Collaborate with, coach and monitor the Record to Report teams that support the underlying or transactional details of each PBU.
