University of Miami Remote Patient Attendant, Full-Time in Miami, Florida

Shift: days, evenings, nights, variable shift, depends on availability ( 3 x 12 hrs.)

Work Location: UHealth Tower – University Miami Hospital - Nursing Support Services

  • This is not a remote position. This is an in-person position.
  1. Leads daily department operations to achieve quality results, patient satisfaction, goals, and objectives.

    1. Assists and aids in evaluation of on - the - job performance.

    2. Audits and maintains department metrics for unit and organizational goals.

    3. Promotes quality improvement and system - thinking by openly supporting and consistently communicating the mission of the department and organization.

    4. Collaborates with leadership team on the development of, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures designed to improve quality of care and operational efficiency.

    5. Assists in developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives that directly support strategic plan and vision of the organization.

    6. Maintains compliance with policies and standard work for the department to ensure metrics are met and processes are appropriately followed.

    7. Oversees staffing, training and supervision of staff including participation in annual evaluations.

    8. Ensures adequate supplies.

    9. Monitors usage and oversees proper working order of equipment.

    10. Interact s and effectively communicate s with nursing staff, rounding floors as needed.

    11. Schedules units as needed.

    12. Ensures appropriate level of monitoring for all patients assigned.

    13. Communicates with units regarding patient safety needs.

    14. Adheres to University and unit - level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    High s chool diploma or equivalent.

    UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI

    Core Remote Patient Attendant - Lead (U).

    Certification and Licensing:

    Valid State of Florida LPN license Certification in relevant specialty or field.

    Experience:

    Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

    • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

    • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

    • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

    • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

    • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

    • Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency situations.

    • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others .
