University of Miami Assistant Professor of Clinical - Pediatrics, Psychology in Miami, Florida

Responsibilities:

Provision of clinical psychological assessment and therapy services to children and adolescents with various issues related to their diagnoses and treatment, including psychological adjustment , pain management, and learning and/or behavioral problems, through the Division of Hematology/Oncology , as well as psychological support services to the parents of these patients .

Consultation with physicians and other health care professionals in the Division of Hematology/Oncology regarding patient care, including participation in Hematology/Oncology faculty meetings.

Provide training and supervision of postdoctoral associates, interns, and practicum students in the care of children seen through Hematology/Oncology.

Participation in clinical research activities, including e.g . , collaboration on projects with other faculty involved in clinical trials (e.g., through the Children’s Oncology Group) , assisting with the design of projects and data collection, preparation of grant applications and manuscripts, and development and implementation of original research projects for which external funding is sought , including participation in relevant Mailman Center Interprofessional Collaboratives.

Participation in the Mailman Center psychology training program, including providing supervision of clinical psychology trainees, by giving lectures to trainees regarding psychological services for various clinical problems such as pain and palliative care , and by participation in psychology faculty meetings regarding training program development and evaluation of trainees .

Qualifications :

APA-approved PhD (or PsyD) in clinical psychology and clinical internship;

Licensure in Florida as a Psychologist ;

Relevant clinical experience with children.
