As a Business Relationship Manager in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

The Business Relationship Manager – Demand Planning & Transparency Reporting will be primary point of contact within BTS for the business in support of the Demand Planning and Transparency Reporting business functions within US Therapeutics Finance. Working with other UST Finance BTS team members, they will play a key role in supporting business strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management & relationship management with business stakeholders.

The Business Relationship Manager will be the default point of contact for BTS with the business for Demand Planning & Transparency Reporting related initiatives and projects. They will analyze business processes; elicit, analyze, and document business requirements; help identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility and make recommendations on best-practice uses of technology. In addition, they will translate business requirements into functional requirements; perform data and process modeling; manage change; and lead/coordinate testing, verification, and validation of requirements.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Elicits and communicates the organization’s business strategy as it relates to the Demand Planning and Transparency Reporting functions; works directly with business unit clients to understand specific business processes and needs/opportunities for improvement; identifies IT capabilities and information required to support the business processes and collaborates with other UST Finance BTS and cross-functional BTS team members in the development of appropriate information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy.

  • Identifies current and emerging business needs and works with other UST Finance BTS team members to evaluate potential technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices. Proactively seeks out strategic business opportunities for the application of new or existing technology capabilities; manages business demand and retains accountability for solutions delivery within the Demand Planning & Transparency Reporting functions.

  • Partnering with Technical & Solution Architects, develops technology strategies that meet the requirements of the business. Identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies. Develops roadmaps for future analytics and reporting capabilities that aligns with business needs and priorities. Ensures compliance between business strategies and technology directions. Prepares testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete.

  • Conducts training. Identifies process disconnects and translates them into improvement opportunities with cost savings or avoidance, productivity improvements, or revenue generating business benefits. Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other BTO's to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.

  • Manages relationships between clients involved and BTOs to assure effective communication between the groups is occurring. Brokers services within BTS community on behalf of customers; coordinates system solutions.

  • Allies with other BTS functional areas to remain current on project status, and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps BTS managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts.

  • Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made. Also accountable for communicating the business need and drivers to development groups to assure the implementation phase can fulfill the business need.

  • Manages project financials, providing leadership and project sponsorship with regular budget updates.

  • Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes organizational objectives and delegates assignments. Accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures, including SOX and SLC.

Qualifications

What makes you a strong candidate for this role:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 6 years’ experience; PhD with 2 years’ experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills with ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to end users at all levels

  • Experience reviewing and streamlining business processes, including gathering and documenting business requirements, developing and implementing new processes and procedures. Solid experience on Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies

  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills

  • Project management experience

Beneficial:

  • Experience supporting Financial Systems, including knowledge of the Demand Planning function and Data Aggregator solutions (e.g. Integrichain ICyte, IQVIA ValueTrak, etc)

  • Experience with or understanding of Transparency Reporting within the pharma industry

  • Experience with/working knowledge of Business Intelligence platforms (PowerBI, etc)
