Honeywell ISC Production Supervisor in Metropolis, Illinois

An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Production Supervisor at Honeywell's Performance Materials and Technologies manufacturing facility located in Metropolis, IL. The Metropolis Works manufactures Uranium hexafluoride (UF6) for nuclear fuel. Metropolis is located at the southern tip of the state of Illinois on the Ohio River across from Paducah, Kentucky.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead shift production shift supervisors in select operational areas of the plant

  • Shift Supervisors supervise and coach union hourly personnel - engaging hourly personnel in problem solving and continuous improvement

  • This role is the Incident Commander for the site coordinating and leading all Emergency Response activities

  • Complying with SOPs, maintaining standard work

  • Determining maintenance needs and creating notifications

  • Reporting process deviations/issues to production management and engineering

  • Tracking raw material inventories

  • Tracking and communicating production goals (AOP, etc.) to assigned Supervisors

  • Provide and promote a safe, environmentally sound work environment

  • Issuing, verifying and signing special work permits, confined space entry permits, lock-out permits and line break permit

  • Fulfilling Emergency Response Team (ERT) roles

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, nuclear regulations and MTW procedure

  • Investigating incidents - health, safety, environmental, and process

  • Ensuring compliance with Honeywell Corporate and MTW policies

  • Maintaining housekeeping and driving workplace organization in assigned areas

  • Conducting elements of Honeywell Structured Safety Process

  • Assist in operator training to enable top performance

  • Coordinates proper manning levels to ensure stable operations

  • Approving and scheduling overtime

  • Ensuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement

  • Communicates status of area operations and performance

  • Communicates plant announcements/information to plant personnel

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

MUST HAVES:

  • 2+ years chemical, nuclear or related plant experience

  • Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift

WE VALUE:

  • BS/BA Degree

  • Prefer candidate with understanding of federal regulations

  • Ability to work with union employees and understand union contracts

  • Ability to work in a nuclear plant and pass a thorough background investigation

  • SAP knowledge a plus

  • Six-Sigma training a plus

  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs and PFDs
