Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Main Lane Technician to join our team at Johnson Dodge. As a Main Lane Technician, you will play a pivotal role in performing diagnostic inspections, troubleshooting complex vehicle issues, and completing major repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models. From engine repairs and transmission replacements to electrical diagnostics and suspension work, you will deliver efficient and reliable service while upholding our commitment to excellence in automotive care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic inspections and comprehensive vehicle assessments to identify mechanical, electrical, and technical issues accurately.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and technical manuals to diagnose and troubleshoot complex vehicle systems and components.
  • Complete major repairs and overhauls, including engine repairs, transmission replacements, brake repairs, and suspension work, according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance services, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid flushes, with precision and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers to explain recommended repairs, estimate repair costs, and provide status updates on vehicle repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment, including proper disposal of used materials and hazardous waste.
  • Adhere to dealership and manufacturer policies and procedures, including safety regulations and warranty guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an automotive technician or mechanic required, with a focus on diagnostic and major repair work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and tools, including computerized diagnostic systems and electronic service manuals.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
