The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and monitor cycle time, lead time and material flow

  • Serve as senior lead trainer for new team members, fostering a collaborative and cooperative work environment

  • Open to learning new methods, technologies needed for enhanced performance

  • Meet production deadlines, setting priorities and escalating issues with urgency

  • Ensure processes are followed correctly, while adhering to the required quality standards

  • Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches and running sheets of significant complexity

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification

  • Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials

  • Quality of finished product (Pass/fail rates)

  • Perform standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and recording results

  • Require knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment, alignment and troubleshooting test failures

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Job Responsibilities Part II

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area

  • Strong decision-making, communication and leadership skills

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process

  • Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practices

  • Knowledge of assembly, test and test equipment, alignment and troubleshooting test failures preferred

  • Must have good mechanical skills with strong attention to details

  • Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus

  • Experience with MRP and Excel a plus

  • Experience in the safe handling of chemicals a plus
