Painter (Residential and Commercial)

Job Purpose: Provides interior and exterior painting for residential, commercial, industrial, or barn painting; may be trained to apply concrete stain and or epoxy finishes.

Duties:

*Prepares work to be processed by reviewing work requests; resolving questions; prioritizing projects.

• Prepares surfaces by scraping; using commercial paint removers; filling cracks and holes; sizing plaster walls or as directed by project manager or team leader.

• Meets equipment material requirements by requisitioning from inventory or placing orders through company owner.

• Achieves desired colors by mixing paints if directed to do so.

• Maintains safe work procedures by erecting scaffolds, ladders, and safety barriers according to prescribed protocols.

• Protects equipment, furniture, and floors by placing drop cloths.

• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

• Enhances facilities and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills/Qualifications: Decision Making, Initiative, Supply Management, Basic Safety, Equipment Maintenance, Thoroughness, Independence, Results Driven, Estimating, Verbal Communication, Good Customer Service, arm-hand steadiness, trunk strength, flexibility, good balance, and good stamina to stand and move repetitively for most of the workday. Must have own transportation and a valid driver's license. Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
