PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Director Governance, Risk, Compliance Programs at our Tysons, Virginia or Irving, Texas location. The Governance, Risk and Compliance Program Director is responsible for defining and leading PenFed’s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Program along with other vital governance, risk and compliance oversight and management activities including third party risk management, business resilience. This role will lead the development and execution of PenFed’s Enterprise Archer architecture, risk taxonomy and framework, play a key role in PenFed’s rollout, implementation, and administration of its Archer system, and assist the Senior Vice President, Governance and Enterprise Projects in other risk reporting, analytic, and governance activities. The GRC Program Director will maintain a strategic and broad view of the enterprise issues management process and measurement process and perform a critical role in maturing the issues management program through the creation of enhanced analytics and advanced features available in Archer. The GRC Program Director to facilitate transparency of issues with leaders across the organization.

  • Consult on project teams or companywide initiatives as an enterprise risk management subject matter leader

  • Prepare risk profile and reports across business units on credit union risk exposures to various internal stakeholders, the Board of Directors, and regulators.

  • Consults and advise on annual division and enterprise risk goals and objectives based on enterprise GRC program and initiatives expertise.

  • Lead the design and implementation of the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Program including the management and administration of the Archer system.

  • Develop and manage the overall GRC use case roadmap, coordinate with respective business and functional leaders across the organization. Develop and manage the annual budget in support of the GRC program and planned roadmap.

  • Lead the development and implementation of GRC strategies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational goals.

  • Develop and deploy an effective methodology for assessing risks and costs throughout the business.

  • Manage and direct external resources involved with the administration and development of PenFed’s GRC program.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business or related field or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of work experience and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in enterprise risk management, other second line oversight function or audit, with a focus in operational risk required. Financial services experience preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in implementation and administration of GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) software systems required. Archer experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience successfully delivering complex projects, leading teams, and interacting with the highest levels of executive leadership.

  • Minimum of 4 years of direct management experience

  • Prior experience in influencing, motivating, and mobilizing mid to large teams and business partners.

  • Excellent written, and oral communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will directly supervise employees.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may is required.
