Trinity Health Spiritual Care Counselor - Hospice Home Care - Full Time - Days in Mason City, Iowa

Hours: Full Time. Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm with weeknight and weekend call coverage.

About The Job:

To provide spiritual counsel to Hospice patients and families, while keeping with their belief system and values.

What we are looking for:

Education:

Requires a BA degree in Theology, Spirituality, or related field.

Requires ecclesiastical endorsement.

Experience

Required experience in assessing spiritual needs and providing spiritual care within differing beliefs, cultures, and values.

Requires experience in providing counseling services.

Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes:

Current motor vehicle driving license, motor vehicle insurance and ability to travel is required.

Able to exercise independent judgment yet work within a team structure.

Belief and knowledge of the hospice concept of care.

Good organizational skills.

Good communication skills, written and oral including documentation.

Respects confidentiality.

Must be able to administer sacraments and officiate funerals. Ability to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change and interruptions. Knowledge of diverse lifestyles, family structures, and dynamics, cultural and religious practices, learning preferences, and age and gender specific considerations. Must be able to read, write and/or speak English.

Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines
