To provide a high level of support and service to the center’s events through its setup and audio-visual needs. Set up includes tables, chairs, stages, dance floors and audio-visual equipment. This position is based on an eight-hour day, and in accordance with facility standards. This position may work a flexible schedule which may include: days, evenings, weekends or holidays based upon the needs of the facility.

  • Complete conference room setup as assigned;

  • Work with Guest Services to move, install or transport any and all setup items needed for an indoor and outdoor event within the conference rooms or outdoor events;

  • Working knowledge of all audio visual (A/V) equipment housed in the building;

  • Ensure proper use, storage and maintenance of all A/V and meeting room equipment;

  • Ensure there is proper back up in the event that any equipment is not properly functioning;

  • Review the trace report and daily assignment sheet at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted.

  • Confirm and setup A/V equipment needs as specific in each contract;

  • Adjust lights, volume, and temperature as needed for each room before guests arrive;

  • As needed, communicate with the Food Service Lead regarding any special needs;

  • Pass necessary information to next staff member on duty ensuring smooth transition, and continuous customer support for guests, during shift changes;

  • If no upcoming events, set up rooms in a readiness position for any possible site inspections. Ensure that meeting rooms are re-set for next event requirements;

  • Maintain inventory of all Conference Center necessities, and order as needed; items such as paper products, table linens, tables and chairs need to be on-hand, and in good condition when needed;

  • SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED;

  • Minimum of two years working in a housekeeping or janitorial role; in certain situations, similar work experience may meet this requirement;

  • Proven experience working well with both external customers, and co-workers, in a role where customer service and hospitality is essential;

  • Must have ability to learn the location of conference rooms, tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment, ultimately gaining thorough knowledge of the building;

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment without compromising attention to detail, making decisions quickly at times, and possessing good judgment;

  • Ability to work independently, while referring any unusual circumstances to the Housekeeping Supervisor;

  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance;

  • Maintain a friendly and approachable attitude towards guests and staff;

  • Provide guests with a lasting experience of the Center, with intent for return business;

  • Respect all facility equipment and property and use with care to avoid unnecessary damage;

  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn and understand, safety procedures:

  • Reporting all safety hazards and suspicious activity to direct supervisor;

  • Learning their role, and carrying it out, in any emergency event;

  • Ability to understand the different functions performed in all RCC Operations departments, as well as interdepartmental communication between foodservice, maintenance, housekeeping, guest services and grounds;

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience trouble shooting advanced A/V equipment issues and/or additional equipment such as televisions, microphones, LCD projectors and laptops;

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of OSHA and Safety requirements

  • CPR and First-Aid certified
