Position Summary:

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Reports to: Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Drag Edit Delete

Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. Drag Edit Delete

Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery. Drag Edit Delete

Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory. Drag Edit Delete

Performs on call services as requested. Drag Edit Delete

Communicates with senior surgical technicians of any changes. Drag Edit Delete

Actively participates and ensures room turn overs are efficient and timely.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Drag Edit Delete

Required Skills Certifications: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP) Drag Edit Delete

Minimum Work Experience 1 year related experience (preferred)
