JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This position requires the knowledge, skill and experience of a swine production or animal research facility to assist in the management of the Swine Research and Teaching Center (SRTC) for the Department of Animal Sciences and Dairy Sciences. The SRTC maintains approximately 1,500 animals, 300 newborn piglets each month, over 10 unique genetic lines of pigs, and facilitates diverse nutritional, reproductive, genetics, and biomedical research projects. This is a working manager position with supervisory duties that ensure the dynamic farrow to finish SRTC operation is functioning efficiently while successfully supporting a wide array of swine experimental projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation, problem solving proficiencies, effective communication, and great attention to detail to support the intricacies and complexities of the operation. The position will ensure tasks are completed, protocols are followed, and develop new techniques to strengthen the operation.
