Summary

The Maintenance will be a reliable, skilled maintenance worker to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs and cleaning to ensure that our facilities are both tidy and functional. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job, as the ideal candidate will have significant work experience and solid technical knowledge. You should have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining records of any work and inspections done on-premises

  • Performing inventory on repair supplies

  • Keeping repair tools and supplies clean and organized.

  • Setting up repair appointments with mechanics or electricians when needed

  • Making and installing new furniture or equipment

  • Ensuring all safety systems are functioning properly, including smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

  • Conducting routine maintenance on equipment and building systems

  • Performing general maintenance tasks for the building or buildings, such as window washing, drywall repair, plastering, carpentry, flooring repair, painting and more

  • Detecting, identifying, and repairing building issues, like basic problems with the building's electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems

  • Responding to and completing tenant or supervisor maintenance requests.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven maintenance experience.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Related degree from a technical college.

  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.

  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.

  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

  • Experience performing routine maintenance.

  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.

  • Eye for detail.

  • Professional presentation and attitude.

  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

  • Strong time management skills.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous forklift experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proven commitment to safety

  • Any master certifications as in Master Electrician and Master HVAC.

Working Conditions

  • Majority of work is performed in a shop and outside.

  • Must be able to work while exposed to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or other fumes.

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Attitude: This job requires "people" skills and a genuine desire to service the client. A positive attitude and willingness to maintain a professional demeanor with clients and team members is essential to this position.

  • Attendance – The ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance, Monday-Thursday plus any additional hours/days necessary to meet business demands.

  • The job is performed under extreme temperature variations and some hazardous conditions.

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout an 8–12-hour day, and up to 60 hours per week.

  • Oral Expression and comprehension — The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Written Comprehension and expression — The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.

  • Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. The ability to tell when something is wrong and solve the problem or seek advice.

  • Manual dexterity – The ability to type or operate common mechanical tools and equipment up to 12 hours per day, 60 hours per week.

  • Lifting – The ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
