Robert Half Senior Tax Accountant in Loveland, Colorado

Description

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is in the process of hiring a Senior Tax Accountant for our manufacturing client located in Loveland, Colorado. This role involves the preparation of state and city income tax returns, maintenance of the tax calendar, calculation of annual tax credits, and coordination of state income tax audits. The position will also require the successful candidate to handle ad hoc requests, unclaimed property tax, and monthly reconciliation of tax-related G/L accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare all state and city income tax returns ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Maintain the tax calendar and ensure all deadlines are met

• Handle the consolidation of tax reporting packages

• Calculate annual tax credits in accordance with regulations

• Coordinate state income tax audits to ensure they are conducted smoothly

• Respond to ad hoc requests pertaining to tax-related issues

• Manage unclaimed property tax in a timely and accurate manner

• Conduct monthly reconciliation of tax-related G/L accounts

• Utilize ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems for efficient tax management

• Apply knowledge of Accounting Functions, Auditing, Compliance, State tax, Local Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Tax Reporting, and Tax Audits in daily tasks.

Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax or related field within the manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions and auditing processes.

• Proven track record in maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations.

• In-depth knowledge of state tax, local tax, and corporate income tax.

• Demonstrated ability in tax reporting and conducting tax audits.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification would be advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
