Humana Senior Procurement Professional in Louisville, Kentucky

The Senior Procurement Professional generates and implements efficient sourcing management strategies. Manages the company's supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending. The Senior Procurement Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Procurement Professional is responsible for leading sourcing intiatives for the organization. The role involves developing, managing, executing sourcing initiatives and driving additional value for the business. This Procurement Professional is also responsible for becoming a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, ensuring strong alignment. Finally, this leader will partner with business leadership in Humana's segments to drive enterprise-wide value.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor with key stakeholders by providing a forward-thinking strategy, considering internal / external factors, and aligning to Humana's overall business objectives and values

  • Develop risk- and probability-adjusted multi-year savings forecasts and annual savings goals, with high forecasted impact on cost and department outcomes

  • Manage a rationalized supply base of preferred suppliers, with performance measurements and enterprise alignment on supplier performance

  • Leverage internal and external resources to solve complex problems and through an advanced operating model, deliver results in the most effective and efficient way

  • Implement staff training and development programs to enhance general leadership skills, sourcing expertise, and domain knowledge

  • Oversee analysis of qualitative and quantitative supplier characteristics, including supplier capabilities, supplier goals and objectives, risk profile, and supplier's financial position for requisite categories

  • Develop and achieve supplier diversity & sustainability targets for the category

  • Manage and lead team through all sourcing activities, including RFI/RFP development and implementation

  • Actively engage in long-term strategic planning for the Procurement organization to build capabilities and achieve roadmap goals for FY23 and beyond.

  • Drive corporate compliance to the preferred-supplier program via end-user change management and communications programs

  • Partner with the Procurement Delivery Team to appropriately triage projects between savings-focused strategic initiatives and tactical quick-hit initiatives.

  • Work closely with Procurement Operations and Corporate Payables to ensure a seamless end-to-end procurement experience for stakeholders & suppliers

  • Drive change management as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of sourcing and procurement experience with several years of category experience

  • Demonstrated experience in defining the category strategy and tactics for the areas of responsibility

  • Advanced interpersonal skills of outstanding communication (oral and written), assertiveness, courage, and the ability to influence others

  • Excellent relationship management skills, demonstrating mature confidence and integrity

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, both as a lead and as a part of a team

  • Ability to work in a team environment to collate and act upon feedback from all levels within the business and sourcing environments

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities of business partners in a complex, multi-business segment environment

  • Ability to assimilate, analyze, draw conclusions, and make recommendations from multi-faceted and often ambiguous data

  • Ability to motivate project team members and stakeholders to meet established deadlines

  • Ability to be flexible and willing to learn new skill sets quickly as the need arises

  • Strong financial and business acumen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree Certifications such as CPSM, Six Sigma, and/or PMP

  • Must be in driving distance to Louisville, Ky

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$76,800 - $105,800 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
