University of Louisville Patrol Officer Recruit in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Minimum of high school diploma. Minimum of 21 years of age. Must be insurable through University's auto insurance policy. USA Citizenship at time of appointment. Certified or eligible for certification under the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training Police Officer's Professional Standard (P.O.P.S.) program and completion of the police training academy, within the first year of hire, recognized and approved by the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training. To be eligible for appointment candidates cannot have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor domestic violence crime as set forth in 18 U.S.C. & 992 (g) (8) and (9). The selection process includes successful completion of a written examination, oral interviews, drug screening test, physical examination and psychological evaluation and comprehensive background investigation.Position Description:Patrol Officer Recruit is an entry-level, commissioned, law enforcement position providing police work/protection for the University. Work involves enforcement of laws, rules and regulations applying to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the University, and surrounding municipalities. Officer is expected to patrol an assigned area, exercise full law enforcement powers, conduct criminal investigations, collect all types of evidence, and prepare appropriate reports.
