Description We are looking for a systematic and detail-oriented Inventory Analyst to join our team in the Oil & Gas industry, located in Long Beach, California. This role involves examining inventory statistics, validating inventory transfers, and making recommendations for changes in inventory practices based on analysis and findings. It is a contract position that provides the opportunity to interact with multiple levels and functions throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Review inventory exception reports and validate inventory transfers.

• Identify inconsistencies in inventory reports, perform root cause analysis, and recommend changes in inventory practices to prevent errors and potential lost sales.

• Execute cost adjustments within the ERP system to ensure accurate tracking of sales, price, and margin reporting.

• Perform store audit variances based on reported inconsistencies and make corrections in the ERP system to ensure accurate reporting.

• Review margins and identify inventory statistics inconsistencies, perform a deeper investigation to identify root causes, recommend process adjustments and make systems corrections.

• Identify areas of opportunity for additional reporting to improve visibility of inventory processes and recommend new reports to senior leadership.

• Identify slow-moving items and recommend inventory adjustments and changes to product selection for the Category Management team.

• Use Excel Formulas, Excel VBA, Microsoft Excel, Asset Inventory, Fixed Asset Inventory, Inventory Accounting, Inventory Analysis, Inventory Audits, Inventory Controls, and Major ERP System for performing duties.

• Perform analysis using analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Manage high volume time-sensitive situations, multi-task, and manage various project elements simultaneously. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Excel Formulas and Excel VBA

• Practical experience with Asset Inventory and Fixed Asset Inventory

• Prior experience in Inventory Accounting, Inventory Analysis, and Inventory Audits

• Knowledge of Inventory Controls and the ability to implement them effectively

• Familiarity with Major ERP Systems and their use in inventory management

• Proven ability to perform comprehensive analysis on inventory data

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in the Oil & Gas industry

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
