Please Note: This is a TEMPORARY position

Job Overview:

The surgical coordinator is responsible for interacting with patients and guests in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the medical team.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School graduate or G.E.D equivalent

• Successful completion of all orientation programs

Preferred:

• Surgical Coordinator Experience

• Healthcare Experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift Working: 8:00am-4:00pm

• Day Shift

• Full Time

Essential Functions:

• Scheduling patient appointments, surgical procedures, and associated imaging for busy general surgery and acute care surgery practices

• Verifying correct insurance information

• Obtaining insurance company pre-authorizations, scheduling peer-to-peer meetings as necessary

• Explaining intake forms to new patients

• Ensuring patient completion of pre-admission testing, and medical clearance requirements

• Collecting any referrals and processing co-payments
