GENERAL DYNAMICS LAND SYSTEMS INC Troubleshooter in Lima, Ohio

Position Description: This UAW-represented position includes: - Troubleshoot and correct circuit malfunctions in complex transistorized, magnetic amplifier, electromechanical servo, and relay circuits. - Determine cause of malfunction and make necessary corrections and adjustments using all types of testing and calibrating devices such as frequency multipliers, differential voltmeters, digital recorders, special frequency function receivers, and low frequency generators. - Regular and/or modification of similar unit systems involving regular assembly operations is performed under appropriate electrical fabrication classifications. - Check electronic guidance control systems with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic counters and the like, to verify that wave shapes, frequencies, amperage output, and the like meet governmental specifications. - Interpret reasons for variances to expected performance of electronic guidance control systems and recommends corrective action. - Provide technical assistance to Assemblers in the installation and alignment of electrooptic equipment by using electronic measuring devices to ensure the other systems are not adversely affected by the installation. - Makes electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic adjustments to individual stabilization systems with the use of electronic analyzers (e.g., monitor individual adjustments to show the affect of such adjustments on the other systems) and hand tools such as screw drivers, wrenches, and pliers. - Interprets electronic analyzer outputs to assure optimum operations of individual control systems and make any further adjustment on individual systems to ensure synchronized performance level. - Identifies malfunctions in the control systems during a tank performance test with the aid of electronic analyzers and recommend corrective action. - Provides technical assistance to Assemblers during the repair and/or replacement of stabilization systems. - Makes stabilization performance tests with electronic analyzers and record test results for the analysis and review of the performance of the stabilization systems and make further adjustments to equipment as necessary. -Records all repairs, replacements, problems, test results, and the like in a vehicle history book as required by governmental specifications. - Perform advanced inspection and balancing on electronic turret and fire control systems. Diagnose and isolate difficult electrical troubles on track-tested vehicles and make corrections or recommend solutions. - Perform electrical inspection that is clearly more difficult and skilled than other electrical inspection work performed on the tank in the general inspection classifications. - Interprets schematic diagrams and use tracking motor and differential analyzer, strain analyzer, Oscilloscope, frequency meter, capacitance bridge, wheat stone bridge, strabotac and similar instruments in performing the above work. - Clean up his/her immediate work area. Under exceptional circumstances, may be assigned to perform general cleaning in the department area. This classification does not include general routine department cleaning. - Pre and/or post operation and safety checks of equipment. - May be required to verify that he has followed his written instructions. These instructions may include the appropriate operation sheets or quality assurance directives. Position Requirements: - Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (International Trafficking and Arms Regulations). - Must successfully complete vetting process administered by Department of Army Police for unescorted facility access. - Must be at least 18 years of age. - Must have Associates Degree in : Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Robotics and Automation as well as experience that covers the basics of electronics including hands-on training and the ability to correct intricate cir
