Position Summary: The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of the total Patient Care Services during his/her assigned shift. In the absence of the Administrator and/or designee, the Nursing Supervisor has the authority and responsibility for administrative decisions while utilizing knowledge of standards, policies and procedures outlined for the institution.Regulatory Requirements:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holds current licensure in the state as a registered professional nurse.Current Licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing.A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.Experience as a staff nurse.Clinical nursing supervisor experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrates interpersonal relationships in a manner that enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff development.Skills:Basic computer knowledge.Skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate competence in the care of patients in various clinical settings.Demonstrates leadership, managerial ability and the application of good interpersonal relationships and principles of supervision and administration.Excellent customer service skills.
