Job Description:
Terracon is seeking a Regional Practice Lead/Department Manager to lead and grow our ESA / Environmental Due Diligence consulting practice in the Kansas and Missouri region, which includes departments operating in Columbia, MO, Garden City, KS, Kansas City, Manhattan, KS, St. Louis, Topeka, and Wichita and provides coverage across Kansas, Missouri, and southern Illinois. This position offers an opportunity for an individual who is strong in client and business development and management, team building and mentoring, operations efficiency, quality process management, and strategic planning and implementation. This position will work closely with environmental department and office leadership in the region to strategically expand and elevate the practice.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage teams of professionals in the region providing consulting services including Phase I ESAs, transaction screens, and file reviews.
Collaborate with environmental department and office leadership in the region to drive client and business development, including maximizing opportunities with existing clients and pursuing/securing opportunities with new clients.
Collaborate with environmental department and office leadership in the region to recruit talent to grow the practice, including identifying and landing strategic hires as well as improving current practices for recruiting and career development.
Lead strategic and business planning efforts along with environmental department and office leadership in region to elevate and grow the practice.
Partner with senior leadership in developing and implementing strategic and business operations plans for the practice.
Provide guidance, oversight, and technical expertise for areas of specialty, including supporting Terracon’s quality program by becoming an authorized project reviewer.
Serve as a resource for, and mentor to, team members and environmental staff in the region.
Provide professional support on projects as needed.
Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects, including participating in pre-task planning and reporting any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects and ensuring project team members and operations are maintaining such standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practiced by the firm, including but not limited to engineering, environmental science, geology, and a minimum of 10 years’ related experience.
Some travel is necessary across the region.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
- Professional licensure or certification in field(s) of expertise within KS/MO/IL where State licensure is required (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
